Cathedral Grove is a must see place on the route to Tofino on Highway 4. The grove is home to many trees that are over 1000 years old, and is a great demonstration of a forest that has survived the natural elements. This is the easiest place to get the big tree experience on Vancouver Island.

This is a tough area t visit, mostly because of the long logging road access to reach it and the lack of cell service and amenities. You are truly in the wilderness here, passing through a maze of logging roads to access the area.
