With three main trip styles to choose from, there is the perfect Banff holiday to suit your comfort preferences and travel style perfectly! Our lodge based hiking tours in Banff feature comfortable stays in alpine themed 3 star hotels, inns and lodges in the Rockies. On these tours you can enjoy all the perks of a hiking adventure, while returning to the luxuries of your lodge each night and enjoy a hearty meal in a restaurant.

Banff Camping Tour Packages

Our camping based tours in Banff National Park offer a slightly more rustic experience, for those who love the idea of being outside around the clock. These camping holidays still offer hot showers, flush toilets, device charging and the added benefit of not having to carry anything on your back, so you can stay light on your feet and focus on the views. These are beginner friendly experiences with our professional guides to make sure your camping trip is smooth and fun!

Banff Backpacking Tours

Finally, our backpacking trips in Banff offer a completely self-supported way to explore the wilder side of the mountains and leave the rest of the world behind for a while. Here you carry everything on your back, including food and group equipment, and have access to much more primitive facilities, like outhouses and tent pads.

When To Visit Banff National Park

While Banff National Park is a world-class destination year round, there are specific times that are the most enjoyable for summer activities like hiking and walking tours. Since the Rockies are high in latitude and elevation, spring comes late and fall early. Optimal trail conditions and comfortable weather are between June to September, with lingering snow possible in June and early sprinkles of new snow possible in September. The most reliable and warmest temperatures are in July and August.

Our camping based tours are available from mid-June through to mid-September, when night time temperatures are still comfortable and weather reliable. Our lodge based Banff tours are available earlier in May and later into October. Late September and early October can be fantastic times to visit the Canadian Rockies with golden larches, dramatic skies with crisp air and glowing red shrubs on the mountain sides.

Banff Tours - Attractions

Lake Louise

Lake Louise is the center of all things beautiful in Rockies and Banff National Park. The Lake is one of the most photographed sights in the park and the view of the Fairmont Chateau on the shore is like something out of a fairytale. Most people don’t know that Lake Louise is home to several of the most incredible and accessible hiking trails in the Rockies, some of which we explore on your Banff tour package!

Moraine Lake

Moraine Lake is easily the most sought after view in Banff National Park and one of the most recognized lakes in the world. The shimmering waters are an impossibly blue color, mystifying even the most well traveled of visitors. We head up to Moraine Lake on our Banff guided tours and enjoy a hiking tour high in the alpine above the lake, exploring the mountain passes and peaks that attracted early mountaineers to the region.

Athabasca Glacier

The Athabasca Glacier is the most accessible glacier near Banff and one of the most popular places to visit in the Rockies. Most people ride buses up to the glacier to take a closer look, but thinking outside the box, we hike up high for an incredible bird’s eye view of the glacier on the Wilcox Pass hiking trail. This is one of the best glacier views on your Banff tour package with us.

Peyto Lake

Named after “Wild Bill Peyto”, this lake is probably the bluest lake in Banff National Park, with a glacier draining directly into the left side of it. We walk along the ridge above the lake and take photos during our guided Banff tours. As soon as the tour buses leave, this is also one of the quietest lakes you’ll see on your Banff holiday.
